The ICARS AMR Sustainable Impact Tool Onboarding Workshop brought sustainability thinking into a practical country context, creating space for the Botswana ICARS project team to explore how sustainability can be embedded into AMR interventions from the outset.
From 28–30 July 2026, the Botswana ICARS project team participated in a three-day onboarding workshop in Gaborone, using the Sustainable Impact Toolkit to explore how to strengthen the foundations for longer-term impact.
Taking Sustainable Impact into Practice
The workshop provided an opportunity for the Botswana ICARS project team to work with the Sustainable Impact Toolkit and consider how sustainability can be embedded into their AMR interventions.
The engagement formed part of a wider effort to support AMR project teams in moving beyond short-term delivery towards approaches that are locally owned, responsive to context and designed for continuity.
Building for Long-Term Impact
Sustainable impact requires consideration from the beginning of an intervention rather than only towards the end of a project. The onboarding workshop created space for the team to explore this approach within the context of their AMR work.
Strengthening the Foundations for Continuity
By working through the Sustainable Impact Toolkit in a real country setting, the workshop supported practical reflection on how AMR interventions can be designed with sustainability and continuity in mind.
This engagement contributes to the broader effort to strengthen approaches that help AMR investments translate into sustainable, context-responsive and lasting impact.
